Our Beliefs
Freedom Church holds to essentials of Biblical Christianity. We believe all Christians can and should hold to the following essentials revealed in Scripture
1. The Bible is God's Word and is the rule of faith and conduct for the Christian believer (2 Timothy 3:16) We believe in the perspicuity of Scripture.
2. God is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29-31). This is known as Monotheism.
God is represented in three persons (Matthew 28:19-20; Philippians 1:2; Titus 2:13; Acts 5:3-4). This is known as the Trinity.
3. Jesus Christ is fully God(Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; John 8:58) and fully man(Isaiah 7:14; John 1:14; 1 John 4:2-3). Jesus dual nature is known as Theanthropos, which means "God-man."
4. The Bible clearly teaches us what Jesus Christ did for us to have salvation and eternal life. Jesus came to earth and humbled Himself (John 3:16; Philippians 2:6-11), Jesus lived a perfect life without sin (Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5), and He came to die in our place for our sins on (Romans 5:8; 1Peter 2:24), on the cross and buried in a tomb(Psalm 22: 14-18; Matthew 27:32-61; Mark 15:21-47; Luke 23:26-56; John 19:16-32). Jesus rose again on the third day(Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-7; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-18), and He ascended into Heaven (Luke 24: 50-53; Acts 1:1-11). See also 1 Corinthians 15.
5. Human beings are created in the image of God(Genesis 1:26-27), and we believe Scripture tells us how sacred life is for the: unborn (Psalm 139:13-16), for children(Psalm 127:3), for the adults(Genesis 2:24; Micah 6:8; Titus 2:1-6)and for the elderly(Isaiah 46:4; 1Timothy 5:1-2). Therefore, based on Scripture alone, we are pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-family.
6. All Human beings have sinned and are in need of salvation (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23), Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation and to be reconciled to God the Father(John 14:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
The only way for salvation is to be born again, born from above, or born anew; to become alive spiritually(John 3:1-8). This salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 1:17; Romans 4:3-5; Galatians 3.6; Hebrews 11:6), and by God's grace( Ephesians 2: 1-10) a gift from God. See also Romans 10:9-10, 13.
7. Jesus Christ will return again physically and literally one day to earth(John 14:1-3; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 1:7). Jesus will come back to judge (Matthew 24:30-51; Revelation 19) the sheep and the goats(Matthew 25:31-46), the wheat and the tares(Matthew 13:24-43). This judgement is realized as anyone whose name was not found in the Book of Life was thrown into the Lake of Fire(Revelation 20:11-15).
Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ will live forever in the Lord's presence on the new earth (Revelation 21).
